A Hunter with Heart Releases Funny New Book

Oshawa, ON (PRWEB) April 23, 2008 -- Seasoned outdoorsman and life long storyteller E. Jake Miller shares the best of his tales in his debut book "Fisherwife, or Aquatic Euthanasia" (ISBN 9781591460725, Crystal Dreams Publishing, 2008).

Miller's charismatic retelling of his outdoor life, from the unfriendly stray dog that became his boyhood companion, to the wife that fish are glad to die for, is both humorous and full of heart. From giant catfish, to rattlesnakes, to the tiniest of demons with "teeth of a great white shark, saliva that is pure hydrochloric acid, and feet that are made of tiny cotton balls" (p. 68) known as the fire ant, the stories deal with the types of adventures any outdoor enthusiast can smile at and relate too.

Yet as much as Miller's stories are filled with the charms of the natural world, the appeal of the book far extends beyond the interests of hunters or wild life devotees. Filled with deep a respect for the natural world, and the people and creatures within it, "Fisherwife, or Aquatic Euthanasia" exceeds its reach beyond the comical into deeper levels of thought. Unafraid to express himself, the author shares his views on friendship, family and all manner of relationships.

With the uncanny ability of a natural storyteller, Miller chooses just the right tone to introduce his characters, creating an accurate impression without drawing attention away from the plot. Their quirks and antics, their understanding and trust for one another, create a warm and encompassing environment. Yet it is important to note that the achievements of the characters and the relationships among them are slowly and deliberately forged through time, and that this is an effort we must all expect to make in order to harvest the fruits of our labour.

Always ready to accept the consequences of his actions, Jake Miller's stories are both entertaining and inspiring. His ability to continuously focus on the positive, even when the hunter becomes the hunted, confirms the author's firm belief that "If you look hard enough you can find humor in almost all things." (p. 96) As such, the anecdotal tales of "Fisherwife, or Aquatic Euthanasia" present us not only with a lighter look on life, but illustrates how our attitude largely makes life what it is.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Jake Miller, ardent outdoorsman and natural story teller, was born and raised in Texas, as is well reflected in "Fisherwife or Aquatic Euthanasia." To those who have read the stories, it will seem only natural that he lives there still, with his wife and youngest daughter. "Fisherwife or Aquatic Euthanasia" is his first published book.
